So you Want A Gig at Birmingham's Best Rock Pub and why wouldn't you?

Well this is how you go about getting one.

    1. We need a headline band name when taking a booking.

    2. We now charge for the room at £80 per night including the PA & Engineer

    3. ALL BANDS MUST BE FINISHED BY 10:45PM AND NO LATER

Step 1: Are you old Enough?

    Scruffy's is a STRICTLY OVER 18's venue and this goes for the bands too. If your band meets this requirement then move to step 2. Please note we will not hesitate to cancel a gig if we think any of a band is under 18. We will not risk our licence, so if any of your band looks a bit young, then make sure they bring an acceptable form of ID with them. (If they look under 21 get them to bring ID)

 Step 2: Find some Bands (Read This Bit Carefully)

       At present Scruffy's does not have a specific promoter so we are unable to put individual bands together to form a night's line up, however what we do is let your band become the promoter and let YOU run the night. Any money you take on the door is yours.

    Of course you need to either find a couple of support bands or a headline to make a 3 band line-up and seeing as most bands know other bands this is usually quite easy. All this might sound a bit daunting but this is how we have been running for the last 20 months and its all been good so lets face it, if other bands can do it why cant yours?

Step 3: Decide on a Date

        It's always best to have a few options ready including Sunday to Wednesday as this is our quieter time for bands so it’s easier to fit you in. We don't take booking for Saturdays under any circumstances. We will only accept Friday bookings providing you are willing to NOT charge on the door, meaning this a free gig to our customers. If you decide this is acceptable, then we will waiver the room hire fee. - You do a free gig - we won’t charge you. This option also means you'll get a really good crowd and hopefully a bigger following next time you play here.

Step 4: Decide if you need our P.A. & Sound Engineer

    You will need to tell us if you want to use our P.A equipment and Sound Engineer. What we mean by P.A is mic's, monitors, desk, and NOT sound engineer. THIS IS NOT A BACK LINE and any band playing here needs to supply their own back line.

Step 5: How Much will it cost You (The Bands or Organizer)

       Simple..... £80. This is a new set fee, whether you decide to use the P.A. or not. This fee will need to be paid prior to the night, normally when you book or at least 28 days before the night of the gig. If Scruffy Murphy's does not receive the room hire fee then we reserve the right to let another band / promoter have your date. You will receive written notice by email within 10 days from your reservation. You should keep all correspondence as proof of your booking. Scruffy Murphy's WILL NOT pay any riders or costs to any bands under any circumstances.

If you are unable to perform on your booked date and give Scruffy Murphy's at least 7 day's notice then your room hire fee will be transferred to a new date.

Failure to provide Scruffy Murphy;'s with 7 days notice will mean the loss of your room hire fee.

Step 6: Contact us

    So if you have your bands of which ALL members are over 18, you have few dates in mind and you know if you want our P.A., then send us an email. We will then get in contact with you ASAP and try to fit you in. It’s good at this point as well to give us some background information on the bands that are going to perform on the night, web site's, type of music etc,
